Hello fellow yogis/yoginis - well summer is officially here and the days are as long as the weather is warm.. finally!! This newsletter might be a little bit lengthy, but it's been a while since I've sent one of my "stories" out so please bear with me!! Firstly, Canada Day Weekend is approaching and the studio will be closed on Monday June 30, 2003 and no classes are running on that day. Which means, we are open on Tuesday July 1 and all classes are running as usual. If you are booked into the Pilates Monday morning class, Sarah Hill and myself are asking that you come to another Pilates class later in the week. Thank you in advance for your co-operation and understanding!! We have updated our website www.yogabysarah.com with our summer scheduling so please be sure to refer to it and print off a new schedule. There are also copies of the summer schedule at the studio as of Wednesday June 25. In summary: *Our summer 4 week session of Pilates classes start the week of July 14 and run until August 9. We have added on a new class, Teen Pilates Wednesdays at 4:30pm. *The Prenatal Yoga pre-registered class is also a 4 week session and will run Thursdays at 8:10pm instead of the Saturday noon time slot for the summer. We think that this weekday evening will be a better timeslot for the summer as there is always so much to do and so many places to go during our precious few summer weekends. The Prenatal class starts July 17 and runs until August 7. *Also at long last, we are running our first Children's Yoga 5 week session, Thursday mornings at 10:45am from July 3 running to July 31. *We are not going to run the Beginner Hatha or the Beginner Power Yoga courses (Tuesdays and Thursdays 8:10pm) for the rest of the summer. We will finish up this session the week of July 12 and then run the programs again after Labour Day. *Most of the other pre-registered programs will end the week of August 9 and we will take a few weeks hiatus until after Labour Day, commencing again the week of September 15. *I am however running a Power Yoga Crash Course: Understanding the Sun Salutations on Sunday July 27 9:30am-11:30am for those who have been wanting an introduction to Power Yoga or have been wondering what it's all about. *Again for complete details or to register for any of these classes please refer to our website www.yogabysarah.com Please note that registration is now open and can be done online, via telephone or in person at the studio. Please register early to reserve your spot in the class!! As for our regular Drop-In Yoga class schedule there are a few minor changes for the summer months commencing the week of July 14: *The Monday 4:10pm Charity class has been cancelled for the summer as Lisa Propper has now completed her Yoga Teacher Training Program. Congratulations Lisa!! We hope to start running this class again in the fall with a new teacher trainee. A very heartfelt thank you to all of you who attended this class and helped raise money in support of Women's Place. *The Tuesday 4:15pm class will now be taught alternating weeks between Sharon and Stacey. *The Tuesday 6:50pm class will be taught by Sharon. *The Wednesday 9:45am class will be cancelled as of July 30 until Labour Day. Jo will be out of province in British Columbia visiting family for much of August and will also be finishing up her final week training with Francois Raoult. As a side note, I will be filling in for her Monday 8:10pm while she is away. She will return to her usual classes closer to the end of August or shortly after Labour Day. *Saturday morning classes will be alternating between Cathy, Jo and myself for the summer. The bulletin board at the studio has the detailed schedule. *But again for a clear concise version, please print off a copy of the schedule from our website www.yogabysarah.com or pick up a schedule from the studio!! Sharon, Rhonda and myself have decided to take vacation together this summer and have rented a cottage in Wasaga Beach. (Yes I have heard that it is party town, but trust me I am looking for some R&R!) So with the three of us gone that week, that will leave the studio pretty short staffed, so I have made a slightly smaller revised schedule for the week of July 21-26. It is a separate blue schedule (not pink!!) that can be picked up at the studio, and will be available via the website within the next couple of days. So for the week that we are away we will have a slightly different schedule with fill-ins. Sharon has graciously offered to leave Wasaga Beach and come back to St. Catharines mid-week to help fill-in at the studio. That schedule is in effect for one week only, July 21-26 and the Pilates classes are NOT affected by this schedule change. This schedule is available today at the studio. We are running a July Promo - purchase any yoga membership in the month of July and get a 2nd membership 1/2 off for a friend!! (Pilates or any pre-registered yoga classes not included) So if you have been meaning to start or get back into yoga, now's a perfect time, so tell a friend!! Offer expires July 31, 2003. Soooo... I think I said it all in less than a million words!! Thank you to all of you, my past and former students, members, staff, friends, and family for your constant support, love, and feedback of myself and all the "happenings" of Yoga by Sarah. You have all been my teachers and I feel so incredibly blessed. This is turning into a bigger operation and more work everyday, and I am eternally grateful to each and every one of you for your contribution to Niagara's only Yoga and Pilates Centre.
